Old Crescent RFC are delighted to announce that David O’Brien has been selected as Captain of the Club for the 2018-19 season.

David O’Brien played a major role last season in the Old Crescent senior team winning the All Ireland League Division 2B title and going undefeated throughout the season. Aged 25, David attended Castletroy College before going on to UCC to study political science. He has since returned to Limerick to study for a Masters in International Management and Global Business in UL.

David began his rugby career at Castletroy College where he was part of the Munster Schools Junior Cup winning team of 2008 and represented Munster at Schools (U18) and under 19 level. On moving to Cork to study, David joined Cork Constitution and represented the club at U20, Seconds and Senior levels. During his time with Cork Constitution, David won a Munster Junior Cup, two Munster senior cups and two All Ireland Bateman Cups. On his return to Limerick, David joined Old Crescent RFC and quickly became a vital member of the senior team playing his rugby in the second row.
Congrats, Dave, and best of luck for the coming season!
