I am delighted to be chosen as President
of Old Crescent RFC for this year and I look forward to the challenges that this
position presents. Might I firstly extend a warm welcome all members of Old
Crescent RFC, its valued supporters and sponsors, in the hope that this season
will be a successful one in the history of this noble club.
I wish the players well in their efforts
and I dedicate to them, and their newly appointed Captain James Cullinane, on
behalf of this Committee, our total support during the coming season. Likewise,
I wish our Head Coach Mark Ring, well in his efforts and I have no doubt that
his hard work, dedication and manifest coaching talents, will bear fruit in
this, his second coaching year at our club.
These are challenging times for our
club. There is much work to be done to make sure Old Crescent RFC achieves its
potential and becomes a real force to be reckoned with in Munster Rugby again.
So far, I have been heartened by the dedication shown by all concerned at every
level within our club. In that regard, could I ask you, the reader, to take the
time some Sunday morning, to visit our grounds at Rosbrien, to see the valuable
work being done by our voluntary coaches with the underage players. Observe the
coaches dedication, the number of players involved, and their level of
enjoyment. Take this as a snapshot of what this clue is trying to achieve at
every level.
Active participation in sport is
essential in today’s society. Volunteerism is equally so. If you have an
interest in contributing to this clubs activities at any level, please contact
us. There are many tasks to be done. You will be warmly welcomed. In any event,
please attend the matches and cheer our team on at every level.
This is a progressive and well run club.
We would like you to be a meaningful part of it. Good health and happiness to
you in the coming year and be safe.
TONY
MURRAY.
PRESIDENT.
