Limerick Summer Music is a new concept in musical entertainment for music lovers in Limerick, and the first Concert of what is planned to be an annual event will take place in a large 700 seater marquee in the grounds of Old Crescent RFC in Rosbrien, at 8.00pm on Thursday, 13th July 2017.

The Limerick Summer Music Concert will bridge a gap which currently exists in the music performance calendar in Limerick during the summer months, and will present popular music of the light classical variety or ‘music for middlebrows’.  A key objective will be to feature national and international artists in conjunction with local developing quality artists.

The international artists performing in this first edition of Limerick Summer Music will be Vladimir & Anton, two classically trained brothers from Slovakia, who will perform well known classical pieces and also play light bright popular classical tunes.  They have performed on the BBC Proms and have performed on numerous occasions at major venues throughout the UK and Ireland, including the National Concert Hall Dublin, University Concert Hall Limerick, and the Cork Opera House.

The local artist taking part will be Limerick born Emma Langford, a graduate of Mary I College. Emma is a fantastic singer, guitarist, and songwriter, who is attracting considerable attention with her unique interpretation of popular and classical music pieces.  Emma has featured on RTE’s Lyric FM and on other radio musical programmes.

The Concert will conclude with Vladimir & Anton and Emma performing a selection of musical pieces together.
