Statement from Old Crescent RFC
On Friday, 28th April, Old Crescent RFC played Garryowen FC in the Webb Cup Final and won a sporting game by 28 points to 20. Due to administrative errors on the part of Old Crescent RFC, the match was subsequently forfeited under Munster Branch Regulations and the Webb Cup was awarded to Garryowen FC.
The Management Committee of Old Crescent RFC deeply regret these administrative errors and apologise to our Webb Cup squad, our Thirds team players, who trained hard and played so well in the Webb Cup Final. The Management Committee also apologise to the members of Old Crescent RFC, the Webb family, Garryowen FC and the Munster Branch.
