We are well aware that Covid 19 is taking its toll on all walks of life and we hope that its impact on you and your family has not been too severe. We in Old Crescent RFC stand ready to help in whatever way we can. Please reach out to us and if there is help that can be given, within the government guidelines, we will do our best to come to your aid.

As you can imagine the fundraising efforts of Old Crescent RFC, like many other sporting organisations at this time, have been drastically impacted by Covid 19 restrictions. Our Rugby Breakfast with Stephen Larkham and Graham Rowntree has had to be postponed and the Old Crescent RFC Tag Rugby Spring Event cancelled.

Summer and Autumn Tag Rugby, our world famous Pig n’ Porter Festival and our August Golf Classic, which are mainstays of our Summer fundraising efforts, remain under threat and may well have to be rescheduled depending on the relaxation of guidelines which are still under review by Government. The absence of these fundraising events will impact severely on Old Crescent RFC’s cash-flow.

Thank you to all who have taken advantage of our online membership link to pay your annual subscription ( https://eventmaster.ie/event/d6qHnGSwV ). We would encourage all members, and potential members, to support Old Crescent RFC by paying their subscription by this method.

Note that because of the timing of the launch of the online subscription tool, and before the current reality set in, it had been decided that all subscriptions received will be valid for membership till the end of season 2020/21. Paid up members are admitted to all home AIL games for free.

We realise that the Covid 19 situation impacts individually on many of our members so we are thankful to those have contributed and those who may be in a position to contribute through this link, either to pay their membership subscription or to contribute a discretionary extra payment to the Club to “keep things going”.

Of course, “offline” contributions will always be welcome and can be passed on to any Committee Member. Again, we realise that individual circumstances take precedence and we should all ensure that each of us and our families are taken care of first and foremost, but we hope our beloved Rugby Club will come a close second!

This season’s AGM is planned for Tuesday, 26th May at 8pm. However, it is likely that it will have to be conducted on a phone or video conference call unless circumstances change drastically between now and then. We will be in touch closer to the date with details of how to virtually attend.

Take care and stay safe, and we will be in touch again soon.
