Further honours landed at Old Crescent RFC’s Val McDermott’s door this week when he was selected by the IRFU as winner of the AIL ‘Try of the Month’ Award for October from a shortlist of the six best AIL tries scored in the month of October 2018!

 

Val was ably assisted in his winning try by our prop, Cathal O’Reilly, who made the decisive break, sold an outrageous dummy, and put in an inch perfect grubber kick for Val to collect and score!

Val was honoured at the end of last season for scoring the highest number of tries across all AIL Divisions in our undefeated run to the top of AIL Division 2B.  Our picture shows Val receiving his AIL Division 2B Player of the Year Award from Irish Coach, Joe Schmidt, last April.
